How Do I Deposit Funds To My Bitstamp Account?

You can deposit funds to your account via a Bank Transfer, or purchase cryptocurrency directly with a credit or debit card .

U.S. customers can also use ACH to deposit funds to their accounts.

Eurozone customers from selected countries can also use Instant SEPA to deposit funds to their accounts.

HOW DO I DEPOSIT VIA BANK TRANSFER?

Log in to your Bitstamp account. Go to Deposit. Choose Bank Transfer in the menu on the left. Select the currency you want to deposit and the balance you would like to credit it to (if the balance differs from the deposited currency, the funds will be converted). Click Deposit. Our bank details and your personal message number will appear — make a transfer from your bank and make sure you write your personal message number as the transfer reference.

Please note that simply opening a deposit at Bitstamp WILL NOT transfer your funds. You need to transfer them from your bank yourself.

CAN I DEPOSIT FROM A BANK ACCOUNT THAT IS NOT HELD IN MY NAME?

We only accept deposits coming from bank accounts that are registered under the same name as your Bitstamp account. If the names do not match exactly, the deposit processing time may be extended and we may require you to provide additional information.

Pay attention to the name of bank “sub accounts”. If you’ve recently changed your name or surname, and your bank account information has been updated, but your Bitstamp account hasn’t, please update your name on your Bitstamp account. You can do that by contacting our team at support@bitstamp.net.

DEPOSITS FROM CHECKING ACCOUNTS

You can deposit funds from a checking account if it is held in your name.

DEPOSITS FROM JOINT BANK ACCOUNTS

You can deposit from a joint bank account, but we may require you to provide additional information before we credit your deposit to your account. This may extend the processing time.

We suggest you deposit funds from a bank account held only in your name.

DEPOSITS FROM SOLE PROPRIETOR BANK ACCOUNTS

You can deposit from a sole proprietor bank account, but we may require you to provide additional information. This may extend the processing time.

We suggest you deposit funds from your personal bank account, which is held in your name only.

DEPOSITS FROM PAYMENT PROCESSORS

You can deposit from payment processors. However, we may require you to provide additional information, which may extend the processing time. We also reserve the right to return the deposit at any time without specifying a reason.

DEPOSITS FROM CORPORATE BANK ACCOUNTS TO PERSONAL BITSTAMP ACCOUNTS

We will block any deposit from corporate bank accounts to a personal Bitstamp account.

THIRD-PARTY ACCOUNTS WITH AUTHORIZATION

We do not accept deposits from third-party accounts, even if you are authorized to use them.

DEPOSIT RETURNS AND FEES

Any deposits that we block and return incur expenses according to our fee schedule (non-standard processing, transfer return).
