How Do I Transfer Coins To MyEtherWallet?

For adding coins to the MyEtherWallet, the following steps should be followed:

Check the site- Traders are recommended to check the site’s protocol before they proceed to add coins on the MyEtherWallet. They should be using the “https://” protocol and not the “http.” Also, make sure that the URL bar displays the green “MYEtherWALLET LLC [US]” certificate.

Create a New Wallet

Click on the “Create a New Wallet” for creating a new wallet, or you may also select “New Wallet” from the main menu.

Choose a Strong Password

Enter a strong password with alphanumeric texts.

Download the Keystore

My Ether Wallet uses the password that you provide to generate a unique Keystore file for your MyEtherWallet. Follow the prompts to ensure that you don’t lose your private keys before you download the Keystore file. Once the process is complete, you will get your private key that you can either print on a piece of paper as a “paper wallet” and keep it safe or save it in your personal computer. If other people get access to the private keys, they can easily access your wallet and control your funds.

Choose Your Wallet

After you confirm to have secured your private key, you will be asked to personalize your account- who can access it. MEW Wallet is compatible with both hardware wallets like TREZOR, Ledger, and Digital Bitbox and software wallets like the Mist browser. If users do not have an existing wallet interface that can be used in conjunction with MyEtherWallet, they can access the new wallet. However, this is applicable only if MEW uses the Keystore file that the users had created earlier.

Sign in to your account with the preferred accessing method. When the wallet is unlocked, you will be able to see personal information like your account details, wallet address (public key), account balance, and the unique QR code.

Transfer existing Ether coins- If traders already have Ethereum standard tokens in another account or on any cryptocurrency exchange, they can easily move the funds into their wallet by sending them to the new MEW address.

Get New Ether

If the traders do not have Ether already, they will need to get some to fund their newly created MEW account as they cannot buy Ether (ETH) directly through MyEtherWallet. However, if they have another cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin (BTC), they can exchange that for Ether via any popular cryptocurrency exchanges.

What Cryptocurrencies Does MyEtherWallet Support?

MyEtherWallet only supports Ether (ETH) and Ethereum related cryptocurrencies and tokens like Ethereum Classic (ETC) and all ERC20 tokens issued on the Ethereum blockchain network like Basic Attention Token (BAT), Chainlink (link), Holo(HOT), Dai(DAI), OmiseGo(OMG), Augur(REP), etc.
